MY STORY / STILL IN PROGRESS

Always curious.
Always growing.

From customer advising to engineering leadership and Microsoft 365 architecture, I’ve grown by taking on unfamiliar problems, earning trust, and helping teams succeed. Today, I’m bringing that experience into the things I build and explore with AI.

MEET JEREMY IN 90 SECONDS

The people, experiences, and curiosity behind my work.

A short introduction to the chapters that shaped how I solve problems, support teams, and build what comes next.

A 90-second animated introduction to Jeremy’s journey through technology, leadership, AI, and visual storytelling.

THE THREAD THROUGH IT ALL

Different chapters.
The same curiosity.

  1. EARLY LIFE

    Curious about how things work.

    Technical curiosity · Creative beginnings

I was the person my family turned to for help with technology. I liked figuring things out and making them easier for someone else. A camera from my uncle before high school gave that curiosity a creative outlet, too.

  2. 2012 — 2016

Learning to connect ideas and people.

UNC Chapel Hill · B.S., Information Science

Studying Information Science gave me a foundation in how people find, understand, and use information. Student leadership helped me put that into practice: listening to different perspectives, bringing people together, and contributing to something larger than myself.

    • 2016: completed UNC Chapel Hill’s first full-stack web development cohort through Trilogy.
    • University recognition in 2016: Order of the Golden Fleece, University Diversity Award, and Chancellor Walter S. Spearman Award.
  3. SEPT 2016 — MAY 2017

Earning trust, one conversation at a time.

Customer advising & university IT support

    • September 2016–February 2017 · Product Advisor, Microsoft
    • February–May 2017 · Office 365 Migration Support Engineer, UNC Chapel Hill

My first roles connected two sides of the same work: understanding what people need and helping technology work for them. At Microsoft, I advised small businesses, education, and government customers across Durham and the Research Triangle. At UNC Chapel Hill, I worked alongside the university’s migration leads, supporting its Office 365 transition and helping staff through technical questions.

    • Recognized as #2 in SMB sales and among the top three in revenue, with $110,000+ in sales.
    • Supported an Office 365 deployment and migration serving 30,000+ staff.
  4. MAY 2017 — FEB 2018

    Making technical support feel personal.

Office 365 Support Engineer · Concierge Ambassador

I supported enterprise customers in the US and internationally with onboarding, troubleshooting, and remote assistance. It was hands-on customer engineering: helping people get unstuck while learning how different organizations use the same technology.

    • Supported thousands of enterprise clients across a range of industries.
  5. FEB 2018 — MAY 2022

    Leading through complex problems.

    Escalation engineering & FastTrack leadership

    • February 2018–December 2020 · Escalation Engineer / FastTrack Migration Velocity Manager Lead
    • December 2020–May 2022 · Escalation Engineer / Core FastTrack Engineer Lead

I grew from one of five migration leads in the Americas into core Microsoft 365 engineering leadership. Across both roles, I owned complex customer engagements, handled escalations, coached engineers, and partnered with global stakeholders to remove blockers. My scope expanded across collaboration, identity, security, and service readiness—while the focus stayed on stronger teams and dependable customer outcomes.

    • Led migrations for 850,000+ users; co-developed automation adopted by the FastTrack Migration Engine and used for 3.5M+ migrations globally.
    • Trained 15+ engineers and helped resolve executive-level customer escalations.
    • Led delivery and escalation management for 90+ enterprise customers.
    • Served as a training lead and mentored 40+ engineers on structured troubleshooting, modern authentication, and deployment readiness.
    • Received the FY22 FastTrack Americas High Impact Award for training and accelerating readiness for 90+ new-hire engineers.
  6. MAY 2022 — PRESENT

    Connecting architecture with real outcomes.

Senior Modern Work Architect · Public sector & education

Today, I lead customer architecture and deployment engagements from readiness through go-live. I help technical and business stakeholders connect collaboration, identity, security, and governance decisions with how their people work—building trust while keeping complex teams moving toward a shared goal.

    • Working with state, local government, and education customers.
    • At the forefront of AI initiatives inside Microsoft.
  7. ALONGSIDE THE DAY JOB

    Making technology a conversation.

Tech Simplified · Chief AI Officer

Working with Sly Gittens and Tech Simplified, I help shape conversations around AI and serve in a Chief AI Officer role. I bring a practitioner’s perspective: ask useful questions, challenge assumptions, and help people understand what emerging technology could mean for their work.

  8. HANDS-ON WITH AI

Where the models meet the work.

    Microsoft 365 Copilot · Copilot Studio · Claude · ChatGPT · Agents

I don’t just advise on AI. I use it every day, across Microsoft and other leading models, and I keep track of what each one does well and where it falls short. I work the way a forward-deployed engineer does: sit with the people doing the work, build a working prototype quickly, and keep improving it from real feedback until it holds up.

    • Run my own personal AI assistant, which researches and drafts the AI Brief for my approval.
    • Build working apps and agents with AI tools, taking ideas from concept to live.
    • Turn what’s new into what’s useful for real teams, with the right guardrails.

WHAT I BRING TO A TEAM

Listen closely. Learn quickly.
Make something useful.

Customer trust

Understand the person and the problem before recommending a tool.

Shared progress

Ask good questions, share what I know, and help the team move forward.

Proof through practice

Turn curiosity into working ideas, then be open about what I learn.

PROOF THROUGH PRACTICE

Things I’ve built with AI.

Independent apps I build to test new models and tools on real problems, and to keep learning by doing.

Universal Document Formatter Formatting one draft for every platform, so the focus stays on the message. Home Rhythm Helping homeowners find a clearer place to start with home care. Form Forward Exploring fitness routines that fit real life and long-term progress.
